Friday, December 12th, 2008Whoa. A quartet of really good things to check out around LA this Saturday and Sunday. Here’s the rundown:
- One of the most iconic photographers of our time, Glen E. Friedman has a retrospective show at Subliminal Projects in Echo Park. Opening reception is December 13th from 8-11pm.

- On Sunday, skateboarder/photographer/painter/artist/ Ed Templeton launches his eleven years in the making opus Deformer at Family on Fairfax. From Family: “To celebrate the release of his new book ‘Deformer’, Ed Templeton will be giving his first ever slide show presentation! Ed will be discussing images from the book and taking questions from the audience.”


- Friend and fellow culturist Sonja Rasula has created Unique Los Angeles, a place to support and shop local artists and unique designs and gifts. Get your holiday shopping done on December 13&14 from 11-7pm at the California Market Center in downtown LA. Also good buddy DJ Bryan Davidson providing your shopping soundtrack on the wheels of steel.

- And finally, you can continue your holiday art shopping at Giant Robot for their Post-It Show 3 at GR2. Get their early as the little pieces starting at only $20 by artists such as Tim Biskup, Gary Baseman, Evah Fan, Nikki McClure, and Souther Salazar will be going quick.
