N.A.S.A. Launches “Money”
“Money” featuring Chuck D, David Byrne, Z-Trip, Seu Jorge, and Ras Congo with the art of Shepard Fairey
Recently I had the privilege to edit a trailer (coming soon) for the accompanying film to N.A.S.A.’s (Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon) ambitious debut album “The Spirit of Apollo”. A true collaborative effort, the album features tracks with crazed combinations of musicians such as Kanye West, Ghostface Killah, The RZA, Method Man, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O and Nick Zinner, M.I.A., Santogold, Spank Rock, Chali 2na, E-40, Sizzla, Scarface, George Clinton, and even a pairing of Tom Waits and Kool Keith just to name a few. Making the project even more special are music videos for each song co-directed by Syd Garon & Paul Griswold (the masterminds responsible for DJ Qbert’s “Wave Twisters”) featuring the art of Barry McGee, Shepard Fairey, Sage Vaughn, The Date Farmers, and Marcel Dzama just to name a few again. The whole endeavor was also filmed in studios around the world and is currently being edited into a feature length doc which will hopefully be released around the album drop date of February 17th. ‘Til then enjoy the first video off the album, “Money” featuring Chuck D, David Byrne, Z-Trip, Seu Jorge, and Ras Congo.
