Where The Wild Skateboards Are
As you may already know, Spike Jonze is filming a big screen adaptation of one of my all-time favorite childhood books, Maurice Sendak’s Where The Wild Things Are. What you might not be aware of is that Spike is also one of the co-founders of Girl Skateboards. To commemorate the eventual release of the film (October), Girl will be unleashing a collection of 7 decks which feature the Wild Things along with a line of t-shirts (sister company Lakai released their line of limited sneakers last summer).
The Wild Things look amazingly accurate to the book and I truly believe this film can soon become one of my all-time favorites as well. I just hope that Warner Bros. stops getting in the way of Spike’s vision and mucking it up for the rest of us.
