30 Seconds of Pure Streaming Gold
Monday, February 2nd, 2009Super Super Bowl last night! I’m completely impressed and surprised by the resiliency of the Cardinals and just how close they came to pulling off a huge upset over the Steelers in the instant classic. But I’m nowhere near as stunned as I am by the giant leap forward the Cash4Gold.com commercials made during the telecast. Like “Quantum Leap” leaps. Did you see that thing? Was that shit for real? YOU MUST WATCH BELOW NOW!
“Famous Rap Star” MC Hammer scrapping his gold pants? Ta-dow! “TV Personality” Ed McMahon saying goodbye to his “old friend”? Boom! The ad geniuses behind Cash4Gold have definitely stepped up their game and earned they’re weight in…MONEY cause that spot is 100% pure comedy gold! From starting off with sub-standard run of the mill infomercials to becoming the most self-aware/mocking business buying airtime on tv (during the Super Bowl even? Ballsy!), Cash4Gold is a true rags to riches story. And even though the three new explosive MacGruber Pepsi ads (1, 2, 3) star the actual MacGyver, the Cash4Gold spot is not only the new king of commercial comedy but it’s the current gold standard. (It writes itself people)
