THIS WEEK: Art in Miami
At this time last year I was wandering the streets of Miami Beach surrounded by art in commerce during Art Basel Miami (pics and coverage). And although I wasn’t as blown away as I had thought I was going to be (save for a legendary Robert Williams piece), it was definite fun times with all the places and parties to be. So whether you’re buying, selling or just going for the hell of it, here’s a few places to experience art in Miami this week.
- SCOPE Miami-Last year the fun loving Friends With You collective installed a giant fun house inside the main exhibition hall to break up the gallery monotony. Who knows what shenanigans await this year.

- NADA Art Fair (New Art Dealers Alliance)-The down to Earth place to be when you want to escape the stuffiness of the galleries at Art Basel.
- Last year I also spotted Shepard Fairey doing his thing in public, this year Country Club will go the more traditional route in a gallery space presenting Shepard Fairey The Public Works.
- Primary Flight will be presenting the world’s largest site-specific street level mural installation as well as broadening its reach with the addition of Blue Print For Space, a collection of contemporary Street Artists and Graffiti Writers, hosted by ArtCenter/South Florida. Opening party at the Shore Club on South Beach with Dr. Dre, Peanut Butter Wolf and more.
