For the Holidays, Dick Towel!

Monday, November 30th, 2009

With the holiday shopping season officially in full gear, what better gift to give this Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza/Festivus than the Dick Towel?!?! In yet another funny and flawed attempt to get rich quick, The Dick Towel comes (pun intended) straight out of the twisted comedic minds of Dennis and Mac on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (if you’re not familiar with the show, think Seinfeld if they were foul-mouthed thirty somethings with absolutely no morals living in Philadelphia instead of New York. So basically a cast of George Costanzas) and is now an actual product for sale on the interwebs. Get yours now!

Also available from the gang, Kitten Mittens!

Full episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia online at Hulu.com.

Curb Your Seinfeld

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Although the first new episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm in two years is still weeks away (September 20th to be exact), it’s hard not get excited for Larry David’s faux Seinfeld reunion which will take up half of the season’s ten episodes in a story arc beginning in early October. Obviously this all sounds pretty, pretty, pretty good.

From the comedic creator who has made complaining a form of art:

“The context is for years I’ve been asked about a ‘Seinfeld’ reunion — as has Jerry and the other cast members,” Larry David said at the “Curb” panel at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Pasadena.

“I would say, ‘No, there’s no reunion, we would never do that, it’s a lame idea’ … but it might be really funny to do that on ‘Curb’ … and I kept thinking of how we could pull this off, and Jerry was game … so we’re doing a ‘Seinfeld’ reunion show. … We’ll see the read-through, parts of rehearsals, the show being filmed … you won’t see the entire [mock ‘Seinfeld’ episode] … you’ll get an idea of what happened 11 years later [for the characters].”

“It was like getting on a bicycle,” David said of writing “Seinfeld” dialog again. “Coming up with the right ideas about what they’d be doing 11 years later … that took some thought.”

We’re Gonna Party Like it’s Seinfeld 99

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

It’s no secret that times are tough these days for a lot of good, talented people. But it wasn’t too long ago when the future looked bright, the economy was booming, and a “show about nothing” meant something to everyone. In each episode of Seinfeld the foursome of Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer found ways to make the mundane insane while making us laugh our asses off. Here’s a painting of 99 of those instances, as well as a handy reference key, created by Kiersten Essenpreis for Gallery 1988’s upcoming Idiot Box show. “Serenity now!” indeed.

P.S.  There are a few extra items hidden in the piece for BIGTIME fans.
