Jon Stewart Out Glen Becks Glen Beck Yet Again

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

On last night’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the country’s most trusted newscaster borrowed a page from Glen Beck’s faulty Fox playbook and once again took to the chalkboard to give us exactly one million reasons why Fox News may not be as “fair and balanced” as they claim to be. Shocker.

Lewis Black vs. Glen Beck and his Nazi Tourette’s

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

On The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night, Lewis Black took Glen Beck to task on his segment Back in Black after the completely rational (sarcasm) Fox News commentator took offense to Arizona’s immigration laws being compared to Nazi-ism even though anything remotely liberal he’s determined to be Nazi related. According to Dr. Black, it turns out that Beck has a severe case of Nazi Tourette’s Syndrome with symptoms that include playing “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, except there’s just one degree and Kevin Bacon is Hitler”. By golly, I believe the good doctor is 100% correct.

FRIDAY (April 30): An Evening with Al Franken and a Word From Jon Stewart

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Now I’m not exactly sure what the Senator Al Franken, Dana Carvey and Kevin Nealon event hosted by Act Blue raises money for*, but I imagine it’s the exact opposite of whatever the Heil Hitler moustache is going on over in Arizona right now. (“Zhow me zor paperz!”) and that’s absolutely fine by me.

*the online clearing house for Democratic action allowing individuals and groups to channel their progressive dollars to candidates and movements of their choosing.

Jon Stewart Does Glenn Beck Real Good

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

It’s not uncommon for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart to bash Glenn Beck unabashedly, but last week Jon Stewart gave, quite possibly, the greatest performance in the history of The Daily Show by opening with 15 minutes of full on Glenn Beck insanity. Brilliance, comedy and common sense ensues.

Dear Fox News, Please STFU

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

These days it seems like the only “news” anchors you can rely on are the ones on a comedy channel. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart once again takes Fox “News” to task and calls it like it is, this time finding inconsistencies in what Fox likes to call “Fair and Balanced” reporting.

At this point it’s like shooting fish in a barrel made of fish with a bowling ball gun. Seriously Fox News, who are you kidding? Just drop the whole “Fair and Balanced” act already, rename yourselves the Republican News Network and call it a day. I promise you, you’ll feel much feel much better about yourself knowing that you have at least a shred dignity.

Jon Stewart vs. Bill O’Reilly on the Factor

Friday, February 5th, 2010

The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart (most trusted news anchor according to the interwebs) enters the lion’s den on Uncle Billy’s O’Reilly Fun Time Factor on Fox (most trusted news channel according to the very same interwebs) and more than holds his own despite Fox’s team of very, very talented editors and  producers.

Watch the COMPLETE UNEDITED version of the interview here, and Fox’s edited versions in three segments below:

  • Jon Stewart on The O’Reilly Factor - Part 1

  • Jon Stewart on The O’Reilly Factor - Part 2

A Look Back at Looking Back at the Past Decade

Monday, January 4th, 2010

My last post of last year was my best list of the best “best of” lists of 2009, so I thought I should start 2010 with something fresh and original. After all, the first year of our new decade deserves more than what any list of any singular year could offer. I must say, what I came up with was nothing short of genius…a list celebrating all the years of the first decade of the 2000’s! So take whatever “original idea” you were trying to come up with and shove it back into your brainhole! Lists: 2, originality: 0. I win again! But only by beating myself…again. Damnit.

Anyhow, for those who long for the early 2000’s of a few days ago, I give you a look back at looking back at our last decade.

What the Health (Care)?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

It seems as though Jon Stewart and the writers of The Daily Show are feeling quite generous this holiday season as they neatly wrapped our nation’s health care woes in a four minute gift of comedy filled with irrational protesters, appropriate film clips and of course our favorite senator who doesn’t like the idea of helping people in need, Joe Lieberman.

Holiday bonus: The last tea party protest of the decade stocking stuffer complete with typical crazy Fox News person!

Jon Stewart Does Glen Beck

Friday, November 6th, 2009

I’ll leave this week’s posts where I started them, in the trusty hands of Jon Stewart and his Daily Show taking on those mother foxers at Fox News. With Glen Beck on leave to take care of some internal organ issues, Jon does his best to step in and supply America with the classic Beckisms we so richly deserve: nonsensical associations; irrational thoughts; wild emotions paired with wild gesticulations; and of course, Beck’s bread and butter-the abundant use of fear mongering. Get well soon Glen!

MUST WATCH: Jon Stewart Gets Completely Foxed Up

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

Last week The Daily Show with Jon Stewart once again outfoxed the number one cable “news” channel, Fox News, by owning them with the facts supplied by Fox themselves. It goes something like this: in the ongoing battle between The White House and Fox News over the network’s coverage of the administration, Fox cries censorship and argues that their opinion based shows should not be considered part of their “news” scheduling. The only problem with that logical reasoning is that it pretty much discredits most of their programming. Jon Stewart takes Fox News to task, Glen Beck fake cries, the good guys win, and as usual, comedy ensues.
